Donna Putnam is a licensed real estate broker and has been my transaction coordinator ever since I started in real estate in 1994. She is exceptionally knowledgeable in this field having once served as the transaction coordinator for Charlotte's largest RE/MAX office during the time I was associated with RE/MAX. Donna assists me in the coordination of appointments for inspections, repairs and other functions. Her attention to details helps to ensure closings can be as stress free as possible. Clients rave about her caring service and professionalism.
My husband Ray, who is also a licensed real estate broker is a source of information and contacts for people who are wanting to know more about the area and Charlotte. He was given the honorary title as the Mayor of Ballantyne because of his long term commitment to both Ballantyne and Charlotte. He founded the well respected "Ballantyne Breakfast Club
" community forum in 2001. He also founded the original Ballantyne Candidates Forum & Chili Cook-Off event which is now called the Ballantyne Community and Candidate Picnic.
In 2017 he founded South Charlotte Partners, Inc a non-profit organization which advocates for improvements and funding for projects to enhance the quality of life in the South Charlotte area. This organization serves to represent the needs of the South Charlotte area to political representatives and department managers.
In 2018 South Charlotte Partners assisted in obtaining $25 million in area improvements including an extension of a much needed east west connector road and the identification of intersection improvements and additional sidewalk needs for the area.
South Charlotte Partners was also very involved with the city and regional leadership in working directly with both NCDOT and the N.C.Turnpike Authority in advancing the long delayed extension of the widening of I-485. to a now confirmed 2019 start date for construction.
He has served by appointment to the Road & Transportation Committee of 21 in 2008 as the representative for South Charlotte. He has participated in the selections of police chiefs, a city manger and on a panel reviewing a Charter School proposal for the Town of Matthews. He recently served for 5 years on the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Planning Commission before stepping down in 2017.
He has served for years on the Board of Directors for the Ballantyne Chapter of the Chamber of Commerce.
Ray was honored in 2017 in the February issue of the Charlotte Magazine as one of the fifty most powerful people in Charlotte. One last thing to know about him is how much pleasure he gets from being "Santa" every year at the Ballantyne Hotel.
